Carlisle Auctions' Spring Offering Sets New Records

CARLISLE, Pa. - April 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Spring Carlisle was the third event for Carlisle Events in 2016, but for Carlisle Auctions, the two-day collector car auction held as part of the annual spring offering marks the half-way point in its 2016 schedule.  The spring auction has shattered all types of records for Carlisle Auctions, and provides a promising look into the future for the two remaining auctions this year, one in Carlisle and the last in Lakeland, Florida.

Held April 21 and 22 at the Carlisle Expo Center, Carlisle Auctions moved over 400 consignments, including some of the finest restoration pieces made available in quite some time.  The auction not only sold cars and trucks (lots of them), but it did so while also raising money for charity.  Over a two day span, the auction team and its supporters netted $11,300 for those in need, including $3,700 that will stay local and benefit the Carlisle chapter of the Salvation Army and another $7,600 for Susquehanna Service Dogs.

Charitable efforts aside, the big dollars came via a 60% sell through rate. By selling more than half of the available lots, Carlisle Auctions managed its highest sales total ever, with over $4.1 million coming via a room filled with spirited bidders.  The bidders came to play too, helping Carlisle Auctions achieve its highest number of registered bidders for an auction showcase.

As sales go, part of that 60% and $4.1 million came from five impressive pieces of machinery.  In fact, the top five amassed $398,500 and spanned three decades of production.  The top five of the event were as follows:

1)       1958 Corvette - $88,000

2)       1966 Corvette - $82,000

3)       1970 Boss Mustang - $77,500

4)       1970 Mach 1 Mustang - $77,000

5)       1970 Plymouth Barracuda - $74,000
