NEWARK, N.J. - April 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Black Alliance for Educational Options Action Fund released the following statement on the election of the Tave Padilla of A-2; Leah Owens of A-6; and D. Kim Gaddy of A-8 to the Newark Public Schools Advisory Board.

"The election of the "Unity Slate" is a great example of partnership and collaboration at its finest. There's more that unites us than divides us when it comes to ensuring the children of Newark receive a high-quality education," said LaVar Young, New Jersey state director at the BAEO Action Fund.

"The Advisory Board needs stronger advocates for our children. I have no doubt Tave, Leah and Kim will bring their vast educational experiences and diverse backgrounds to the board to ensure our young people can attend great public schools.  We look forward to working together to continue improving the educational options for low-income and working-class families and their children for years to come.''
