Wolfpack Mom to Receive The Resilience Award at the 5th Annual Mother's Day Walk Festival

Held by Milagros Day Worldwide to Celebrate Motherhood While Raising Funds and Awareness for Domestic Violence Programs; Turning Abuse Into Success!

NEW YORK - May 3, 2016 - PRLog -- The first ever Resilience Award will be presented to Susanne Reisenbichler, mother of the Angulo brothers who came to be known as THE WOLFPACK, when their story of growing up in domestic captivity won Best Documentary in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. This award was inspired by Susanne's perseverance in the face of tremendous adversity; and her remarkable ability to infuse joy and adventure into her children's spirits despite the unimaginable circumstances they endured.

This Sunday, May 8th marks the 5th Anniversary of The Mother's Day Walk and Festival; a New York City tradition held annually by the non-profit organization Milagros Day Worldwide, which empowers survivors of Domestic Violence and Childhood Trauma through leadership coaching, and mentorship,  with its programs The Bootcamp Retreat and The Transformation Academy. "This fantastic, family day was created to honor and celebrate Motherhood while raising awareness and funds toward our commitment for Turning Abuse Into Success" says Milagros Day Founder Dawn Diaz; a Retired FDNY Paramedic Captain, Inspirational Speaker, Author and Life Coach.

The Opening Ceremonies at City Hall Park will be preceded by a Zumba warm-up with instructor Ruth-Suarez Wolinsky; and opened with a rendition of The Star Spangled Banner by Singer, Songwriter & Poet, David Anthony. The invocation and opening keynote will be delivered by 13th Congressional Candidate, Ambassador Suzan Johnson-Cook.

A line-up of powerful speakers will include dedicated mothers from all walks of life: Author of Amazon Best-Selling Trilogy, Common Threads, and  Founder of the Global Sisterhood, Dr. Shellie Hipsky, who will be presenting a large donation check to Milagros Day Worldwide; Suzanne Hobbs, Journalist and Legislative Advocate for the Safe Haven Baby Law; Zelita Dunbar, Samaritan Village Recovery Coach for Homeless Women Veterans; and Meryland Cuevas, Popular Blogger, Empowerment Diva and LGBT Advocate.

Also presented on this glorious Mother's Day morning will be the MOM Award (Man of the Movement); given to three men who are actively committed to ending Domestic Violence: Filmmaker Kell Ramos, Founder of the Domestic Violence Action Group; Dan Suarez, President of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and Benefactor of Instituto Esperanza Vocational Training Center for Domestic Violence Survivors; and Jose Pagan, Multi-Media Artist, Fashion Photographer and Visionary at Hunks for Hope Calendar benefiting grassroots Domestic Violence organizations.

The ceremonies will continue with former New York State Assemblywoman Gabriela Rosa telling her story of renewal and serving her community through working with Catholic Charities, after having recently served her debt to society for personal choices made almost two decades ago; and will draw to a close with the event's Madrina, Milagros International Spokesperson, Transformational Speaker and Celebrity Coach Karen Hoyos inspiring attendees to walk across the bridge fully present and step into their life's purpose as she inspired Dawn Diaz to create Milagros Day Worldwide.

The approximately 1.1 mile walk across the Brooklyn Bridge will culminate in Cadman Plaza Park where walkers will enjoy entertainment from the Batala Brazilian Drum Band, Gina Narcissa Vasquez and her Belly Dancing Troupe, and mesmerizing dance music by DJ Duce Martinez. There will also be an array of vendors and a variety of family activities including face painting by Blu Poppy Artists and CPR/First Aid Awareness Trainings by Iron Hand Rescue.

Sponsors for this year's walk are Worthy Lifestyle Apparel and its I AM Worthy Anti-Bullying Campaign; Live-In Connection Real Estate With Purpose Magazine, Kia Plaza Auto Mall, and Brooklyn Colony Restaurant and Entertainment Venue.
