New art exhibition organized by Unbound Visual Arts, inspired by the artscience theme that runs through many of the Ed Portal's 2016 events. is opening at the Harvard Ed Portal Crossings Gallery.

ALLSTON, Mass. - May 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The Harvard Ed Portal's Crossings Gallery is proud to present Unbound Visual Arts' exhibition Temptation of the Mind and Body, inspired by the artscience theme that runs through many of the Ed Portal's 2016 events. Curator Kayla Spafford has selected works exploring the science and psychology of temptation and how it manifests in everyday life. Featuring media such as sculpture and painting, Temptations of the Mind and Body is sure to captivate, and maybe even provoke, the viewer. The artwork of seven UVA member artists is included.  The artists include Joanne Desmond, Amy Kelly, Pauline Lim, Joan Mullen, Alexandra Rozenman, Ruth Segaloff, and Nohelia Vargas.

The displayed artworks, in all various media and sizes, are available for purchase. Kayla Spafford, the curator holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.

The exhibition runs from June 10 - July 22, 2016 in the Harvard Ed Portal Crossings  Gallery and is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  The opening reception with refreshments, short artist talks, and music by jazz singer Beth Purcell with Brian Friedland on the keyboard is Friday June 10, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public. Free auto and bike parking in the rear.  The gallery is also accessible by MBTA buses 86, 70, 70A. It also about a 15 minute walk from the Harvard Square Red Line Station.
