Follow on Google News | ![]() Columbia, SC Gym Raises More than $1,000 for National MS SocietyThe newly opened gym and its members joined together to compete in its first annual Muscles for MS event. The event challenged teams of two to compete in a grueling 3-minute workout, with their performances scored by judges. Teams were accepted with a $10 donation to benefit the National MS Society. The event was followed by a raffle supported by generous donations by local sponsors. For Workhorse Fitness, the National MS Society is more than just another cause to support. Workhorse member Emily Bethea was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 21. Donations from Muscles for MS supported her in raising funds for Walk MS, which is part of the National MS Society. "I couldn't be happier that so many of our members came out to show their support, and that so many local sponsors were quick to donate to the cause," said Ibrahim Dughaish, head trainer at Workhorse Fitness. "We learned a lot from our first Muscles for MS event, and we're looking forward to hosting it again in the future," he added. Workhorse Fitness is located at 925 Huger Street near downtown Columbia, South Carolina. The gym features several daily fitness classes in which members complete challenging workouts in an encouraging group atmosphere.
