Care Award Recipient Honored for Selfless Service

SANTA ANA, Calif. - May 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Stephanie Snyder always felt a natural calling to help others. At a young age, Snyder knew that positively changing lives would provide her with a sense of purpose and accomplishment. In her more than a decade of work as a Client Services Liaison with ResCare in Tustin, Snyder continually has exuded patience and thoughtfulness when working with clients in hospitals and nursing homes. Her altruistic outlook on helping others led Snyder to her recognition as the May/June winner of Fairhaven Memorial Park (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mortuary/en-us/index.page)'s Oliver Halsell Care Award.

"Stephanie gives so much to the community and never asks for anything in return," said Marla Noel, president of Fairhaven. "What strikes me about Stephanie is that even though she is so giving, she is modest and was very surprised that we wanted to honor her for her care and compassion."

Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, with locations in Santa Ana and Mission Viejo (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mo...), created the Oliver Halsell Care Awards recognition program in 2012 to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession and community, improving the lives and spirits of those they help.

"It is my goal to ensure that everyone I meet feels listened to and cared for, and I'm always surprised at how easily this can be achieved with simple acts of kindness," said Snyder. "I am filled with joy whenever I am able to help others, so to be recognized by Fairhaven with the Care Award, for how I choose to live each day, is an honor."

Through ResCare, Snyder works with clients to provide comprehensive care planning, needs assessments and friendly wellness visits. She often goes above and beyond the call of duty, acting as a confidante, driver and caregiver. In addition to working at ResCare, Snyder generously gives her time to the Alzheimer's ministry at Calvary Chapel West Grove (http://www.ccwg.org/), Meals on Wheels and area animal shelters. She also is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two.

Snyder, a Mission Viejo resident who lived in Westminster for many years, will be honored at Fairhaven's Oliver Halsell Care Awards banquet in November at the organization's Mission Viejo facility. The banquet honors a year's worth of achievements within the local community. Additionally, Fairhaven will make a donation on her behalf to her selected charity, Hospice of the Calumet Area (http://www.hospicecalumet.org/).
