Follow on Google News | RFQ for Adaptive Reuse of Historic Glenn Dale HospitalHistoric Hospital Campus to be Revitalized as Continuing Care Retirement Community
The goal of the RFQ is to select a qualified development team to conduct an assessment of the Property and determine the feasibility of adaptively reusing the property-including approximately 450,000 square feet in 25 buildings including a five-story adult hospital, a three-story children's hospital and many small structures-as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with complimentary uses. The State of Maryland defines a CCRC as a retirement community that provides residents with a continuum of care beginning with independent living and progressing to assisted living, memory care, and nursing beds. In 2015 the RDA engaged a national senior housing consultant to perform a Market Study which found there was sufficient market depth to support a CCRC at the Glenn Dale Property. Responses to the RFQ are due 06/14/16.
