The Anti-Defamation League Honors Pete Bernhard at 2016 Jurisprudence Luncheon

LAS VEGAS - May 26, 2016 - PRLog -- For his passion for excellence, high ethical and professional standards, dynamic leadership and social responsibility, former Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman Pete Bernhard will receive the Anti-Defamation League Nevada's Jurisprudence Award.

Bernhard will receive the honor at the league's 2016 Jurisprudence Luncheon on June 7 in downtown Las Vegas.

The award recognizes people who have made an outstanding contribution to the legal profession and the community while exemplifying the league's founding principles. The league, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

The luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m.  André Wilsenach, executive director of UNLV's International Gaming Regulation Center, will deliver the keynote address. Guest speakers will include former U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan, D-Nev., and Larry Ruvo, founder of the Keep Memory Alive foundation and The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute.

Bernhard has represented many prominent Nevada individuals, organizations and businesses since 1976. His work has included major real estate transactions, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He was named Nevada Gaming Commission chairman in 2001 and was reappointed to four-year terms in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

Bernhard is of counsel to Nevada law firm Kaempfer, Crowell, Renshaw, Gronauer & Fiorentino. He also represents Keep Memory Alive and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, nonprofit entities involved in research and clinical study of neurodegenerative disorders. He lectures in continuing education and training programs for the State Bar of Nevada, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the University of Nevada, Reno's executive development program.
