MIRAMAR, Fla. - June 15, 2016 - PRLog -- AMD President of Government Business, Beverly Kuykendall, is a featured speaker at the 2016 Essence Festival - Essence Money and Power Expo - Leap, Run, Grow. Kuykendall will offer experiential insights in a session on July 1, 2016 at 2PM titled "So you think you're ready to do business with the federal government?" The session will explore key steps to helping businesses become contract ready and carve out a path to doing business with the federal government.

The 2016 Essence Money and Power Expo - Leap, Run, Grow is a partnership between Essence Magazine and the Minority Business Development Agency to support the development of Black women by providing them with new and existing products, tools, services and experiences. This unique forum includes business topics such as Finance, Tech, Careers and Entrepreneurship with point of views from seasoned executives. Essence is dedicated to honoring the entrepreneurial accomplishments of women by providing a platform and rich content that appeal to the minority woman business owner.

Beverly Kuykendall leads AMD's expansion into key areas aligned with the firm's long-term strategic goals. She has a background in relationship development and government contracting, and brings a facilitative approach to understanding and proposing solutions to difficult economic issues. Kuykendall has demonstrated her expertise through her work with firms such as Proctor & Gamble, American Hospital Supply, Tremco Incorporated, Xerox and Herman Miller. She also served as President and CEO of Federal and Commercial Contracts, Incorporated (FCCi).

Kuykendall is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 50 Most Powerful Minority Women in Business, Supplier of the Year by the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council, Small Business Champion of the Year by the Los Angeles District office of the U.S. Small Business Association, Entrepreneur of the Year by the Black Business Association of Los Angeles, and Advocate of the Year by the National Association of Minority Contractors of Southern California. Most recently, Kuykendall was recognized as one of South Florida's 25 Most Influential and Prominent Women in Business and Leadership for 2015.

Kuykendall is a recognized expert in the field of federal procurement and has a BS in Business Management from Cal Poly University in Pomona, California, and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
