FRANKFORT, Ill. - June 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Joe Anicich says he wants grieving families to know, "You don't have to walk alone." Their three-day retreat schedule is a thoughtful blend of sharing and wellness sessions with:

Benjamin Allen, a grief recovery specialist, and author of the book, Out of The Ashes: Healing in the Afterloss, who shares how his search brought him to a place of peace. As with other individuals, Benjamin is still on a journey of healing.

Mary Anne and the staff of the Red Kayak Institute provide deeper connections with nature in a morning kayak outing. Time spent on the water is also designed to inspire lessons on life. Mary Anne and staff of RKI ask individuals facing life challenges to push away from shore in simple kayaks, which don't have room for excess baggage. Paddlers must leave all nonessentials behind. Most clients have never kayaked before, but soon people find courage, connect with nature and each other.

Maria Malak, ND, RT, a certified naturopath, offers Reiki sessions, a Japanese holistic, subtle, non-invasive form of energy healing, using spiritually guided, life-force energy.

Yoga instructor Gina Slager's yoga, meditation and breathing guidance helps individuals find a sense of connection, refuge and rest.

The Portiuncula Center for Prayer, 9263 W. St. Francis Road Frankfort, Illinois 60423, is nestled in St. Francis Woods, a sacred space of welcome for those seeking peace of mind, body, and spirit.

Joe and Sherry Anicich, hosts for the retreat, began their own grief journey August 19, 2012, when they lost their daughter, Alisha, and unborn granddaughter, Ava Lucille. In response, they created the Purple Project, in part, to provide affordable support for other parents on a similar journey.

The cost for the July retreat is $400. Space is limited, so please use the web form to enroll http://purpleproject.org/commun.htm
