In a world where many seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, fishing can be both a source of great delight and an act of rebellion all at the same time.  Fish do not lie or cheat and they cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power.  Instead, they respond mostly to quietude, humility and endless patience.  If you can relate, then you may have it bad too; this amiable madness!

Part of this "madness" is cleaning your catch.  Maybe it's not the best part, but someone has to do it.  At the end of a great day of fishing, as recreational or professional anglers idle toward the dock and see a fish cleaning table, it's a welcome site.  The right table with the right surface makes cleaning and filleting your fish a more comfortable, quicker, safer and easier task.  Unfortunately, many of the fish cleaning tables today have anglers wondering "just how clean is that table?"

Typically, wood or a marine-grade polymer is used in the construction of fish cleaning tables.  And while these materials have their advantages, there are also drawbacks.  They include the ability to be disinfected properly (often the nails or screws used to construct the table and the cuts and scratches that accumulate on the surface over time promote the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew.)  Their ability to withstand damage and rotting from the sun, rain and other particulates in the air.  Their ability to endure continuous use.   And perhaps the biggest drawback is that the surfaces are non-renewable.

"After years of fishing and using almost every fish cleaning table made, I found many of the fish cleaning tables out there were usually soiled and served only a most basic purpose," claims Dino Longo.  "That wasn't good enough and there was room for improvement," adds Dino.  He wondered why fish cleaning tables weren't being made from a more durable material that was easier to clean?

That's when Dino and Siltech® decided that improving upon the materials traditionally used in the production of fish cleaning tables could be an enormous benefit to all anglers.  And so he began fabricating Fillet-A-Way™ fish cleaning tables made of 100% acrylic with no polyester resins.

Since 1998, Siltech® Manufacturing has been Changing the Industry Standard™ for residential and commercial windowsills, wall caps, curb caps and transition thresholds.  And their continued success can be attributed, in part, to the sustainability of the 100% acrylic solid surface material used in their fabrications.

So Changing the Industry Standard™ for fish cleaning tables by fabricating them with the same 100% acrylic solid surface material seemed a natural fit for Siltech®.

The result was the creation of an environmentally friendly, wholly recyclable and sustainable fish cleaning table that will enable all anglers to end a great day of fishing in a more comfortable, safe and quick manner with minimal clean-up.

The intrinsic properties of the solid surface materials used to make a Fillet-A-Way™ fish cleaning table (i.e. what make it non-porous, fade resistant, scratch and stain resistant and renewable) along with proper care and cleaning help to create an enduring fishing accessory.

And because of its molecular make-up, a Fillet-A-Way™ fish cleaning table is wholly recyclable.  Even following years of use, the table can be broken down into its base components, then re-processed into solid surface materials that can be used again and again and again.

A Fillet-A-Way™ fish cleaning table is also non-porous and therefore easy to clean.  The rounded corners and lack of any screw holes or cracks ensure that "fishbits" won't have a place to become trapped, nor will bacteria, mold or mildew have anywhere to grow.  In fact, the solid surface material used to fabricate a Fillet-A-Way™ fish cleaning table is NSF 51 Food Zone and FDA food contact compliant.

The table is versatile and when installed with our unique copyrighted piling brackets (comprised of T6061 Marine Grade Aluminum and stainless steel hardware) the table can be easily mounted to any dock piling, decking or seawall - eliminating the need for obtrusive legs.

It is affordable, but provides durable and long-lasting value.

And perhaps what's most unique about the Fillet-A-Way table is that it's renewable.  So no matter what the scratch, cut, nick or stain, the table's surface can be restored with minimal effort using our Care and Cleaning guidelines.  As such, there's no need to replace a worn surface or purchase a new fish cleaning table because you actually used your table to clean fish!
