Dr. Olajide Williams Joins AABC Advisory Board

NEW YORK - June 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Olajide Williams, MD is a distinguished neurologist and educator, with research interest in community-based educational interventions to reduce the disproportionate burden of stroke among minority populations. He is a member of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke External Review Group, for the Clinical Research Collaboration charged with connecting American communities to the National Institute of Health research and is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding teaching, humanism, and community service. These awards include; Columbia University Distinguished Teacher Award, the National Humanism in Medicine Award from the Association of American Medical Colleges, and a Columbia University Gold Foundation Award for Humanism in Medicine and Excellence in Teaching. The New York City Council, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and the NAACP have also honoredDr Williams.

Dr. Williams is an Associate Director of Columbia University's department of neurology, and currently practices neurology at Harlem Hospital Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital where he teaches and trains medical students and resident physicians every day. He is the founder of Hip Hop Heals (a research based health education project) and despite all his professional titles he is most proud about being call the "Hip Hop Doc".

Board Certified Bariatric Professionals (http://www.aabc-certification.org/how-to-become-certified...) are already licensed/certified health and education professionals. They include medical doctors, professional educators, mental health professionals, nurses, nutritionists and other related disciplines that engage in research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obesities and related disorders.

Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors affirms that their fellows have successfully completed all requisite training and education. They must continue their specialized training and education to maintain Board Certification.
