Follow on Google News | Erik Sudberg to Adapt Mob Wives star Marissa Jade's Destiny: Queen of Thieves for ScreenBy: Illumination PR Framelight Productions 323.761.9506 WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA--(June 22, 2016) - Erik Sudberg, has signed on to write an adaptation of Mob Wives star Marissa Jade's comic book, Destiny: Queen of Thieves. Ken Barbet of Shadowbox Pictures who is well known for Producing Father of Invention and Directing the upcoming Aldamisa film, Treasure Hunter: Legend of the White Witch, will Direct. Jeffrey D. Erb of Framelight Productions will produce the film. Sudberg has written several Blacklist listed screenplays including "Behind the Stars: The Bernie Brillstein Story" as well as thriller "Red Sequin." The film was optioned by Jeffrey D. Erb of Framelight Productions from Mob Wives star Marissa Jade and her comic book collaborators G. Tippet, C.J. Henderson and G.W. Fisher. The book is published by IDW Media. "This is truly a unique story and powerful female lead character. It is an honor to part of the team that will bring it to life." Said Erik Sudberg Ken Barbet of Shadowbox Pictures has come on board to Direct the film, which focuses on a female master thief who lives in NYC. When another criminal organization tries to pull a major heist in her city, like a darker version of a modern-day Robin Hood, Destiny sets them up to fail and steals the rest of their assets as they flee the city. Barbet's Directing credits include "Killer Instinct" and "The Eliminator." Barbet said, "Destiny Queen of Thieves is a dream project for any Director. I am thrilled to bring the story to life." Erb is known for Executive Producing "Just Add Water" starring Jonah Hill, Melissa McCarthy and Danny Devito, along with films "Tooth and Nail" and the award-winning "The Speed of Life", as well as producing the film "Let the Game Begin". "I'm excited to be bringing this project to the screen," said Jeffrey D. Erb. "Erik has a talent for character development and action, and I've been looking forward to working with Ken for a long time." Born Marissa Fiore, Marissa Jade is most well-known for appearance as a regular on the Season 6 cast of Mob Wives. Marissa was a muse for the comic book, Destiny, Queen Of Thieves and the main character Destiny is based on Marissa's look and attitude. She has also appeared on shows including Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, and Law & Order, as well as movies like Elf. "I am ecstatic to see my comic book to come to life. This is going to be such an awesome project" said Marissa Jade. Destiny: Queen of Thieves is just one of a number of comic books in various stages of development by Jeffrey D. Erb and Robert L. Robinson Jr., of Framelight Productions. Other projects include RESIDUE adapted by screenwriter and director Vondie Curtis Hall and co-developed by Grey Eagle Productions, Deadworld, co-developed and produced by Bill Mechanic, and SWORD OF WOOD, a graphic novel by well-known comic writer Chuck Dixon, to be produced and developed with Scott Mednick.
