By: Go Eat Give Attendees will be able to savor a festive dinner buffet of Latin dishes prepared by renowned Chef Hector Santiago and Julio Delgado. Santiago, a former Top Chef competitor, has earned many accolades for his expertise including a James Beard nomination for Best Chef Southeast, and Chef Delgado is the executive chef of JP Atlanta. Their menu will include Mofongo, Chicharron de Pollo, Lechon Asado, and many other traditional Puerto Rican recipes. Second Self Beer Company will offer free tastings of blue ginger and lemongrass beer. Puerto Rican-born Professor from Emory University, María M. Carrión, who specializes in the literature and culture of the Hispanic Caribbean, will give insight into cultural aspects of Puerto Rico while incorporating personal anecdotes into her keynote speech. To wrap up an evening of fun, two award-winning dancers Tod Hansen and Massey Turpin from Academy Ballroom Atlanta will perform a medley of Latin American dances, followed by a dance class open to the audience that incorporates many styles of Latin moves. Not only will attendees be able to get a taste of Puerto Rico at home, they will have an opportunity to win raffle prizes for hotel stays in Puerto Rico.
