By: IntegraCare Colonial Courtyard at Bedford will be part of the Senior Day activities scheduled for July 26 at the Bedford Fairgrounds. "We will be taking in the animals and other exhibits that traditionally are a fun part of the Bedford County Fair," said Nanette Bankes, Activities Coordinator at Colonial Courtyard at Bedford. "Our residents will check out the results of the judging of anything from baked goods to quilts to sewn projects in Jordan Hall. The residents also will take in music by Galla and Dan and play games like Cow Patty Bingo. It should be a great day." The Bedford County Fair has promoted agriculture and community pride for 143 years. The primary mission of the Bedford County Agricultural Society and the Bedford County Fair is to educate the community in the science of agriculture, horticulture, household arts and family living. The annual event also provides a significant boost to tourism and business in Bedford County. The Bedford County Fair runs from July 22 through July 30. The July 26 schedule of events, which includes Senior Day, follows: · 8:30 a.m. – 4-H Lamb Carcass on Hoof judging · 9 a.m. – Draft Animal judging; Junior Dairy judging; Lamb Showmanship, Junior & Open Lamb Breed Classes · 10 a.m. – Petting Zoo opens; Junior Exhibits 4-H Center opens · 10:30 a.m. – Harness Racing; Senior Events Registration · 11 a.m. – Jordan Hall opens; Senior and Commercial Exhibits · Noon – Junior and Open Class Beef judging · 2 p.m. – Cow Patty Bingo; Dan & Galla entertainment · 2:30 p.m. – Midway Rides · 3 p.m. – Horse Bowl Contest · 5 p.m. – Dan & Galla entertainment · 6 p.m. – Midway Rides · 6:30 p.m. – 6 Cylinder Car and Pickup Truck Derby; Junior Market Lamb judging; The Sharptones entertainment www.integracare.com End
