Ritchie Valens Foundation Launch & Two Official Ceremonies with Valens Family & Concert Celebration

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- The official Launch of the newly created Ritchie Valens Foundation and the initial fundraising event will be Friday, August 12, 2016.  Starting first, the Family of Ritchie Valens will be presented the official honor of having "May 13" proclaimed as Ritchie Valens "Lets Go Rock & Roll" Day. Los Angeles Council Member Felipe Fuentes, who represents the 7^th Council District, will formally present the resolution to the Valens Family at Los Angeles City Hall at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the 3rd floor. In addition to political dignitaries, present at the historical event will be the Valens family members, the media, public figures, friends & supporters, and Chicano/Chicana Rock musicians.

We are excited to announce that the legendary Jimmy Espinoza of Thee Midniters, Rudy Salas, founder of the band Tierra, Jesse Flores of Vudu Café, as well as Producer/Guitarist Roy Z Ramirez, Co-Founder of the Ritchie Valens Foundation, have all agreed to speak at the Ritchie Valens Day proclamation at LA City Hall first andsecond, to perform at the Ritchie Valens Foundation Ribbon Cutting Ceremony following this public pronouncement at Ritchie Valens Recreation Center.  Also performing live will be Tribe of Gypsies with Roy Z and Boulevard Nights with Gil Rocha, former band mate of Valens. Due to their touring schedule, the band Los Lobos will appear by video and send a special pre-recorded statement.  At the reception, food and refreshments will be provided to VIPs.

The event is sponsored by the newly created Ritchie Valens Foundation, The office of Council member Felipe Fuentes, The office of Mayor Eric Garcetti, PESA, Graffiti Grill, Mama Licha's Kitchen Family Restaurant, The office of Assembly member Patty Lopez and Rhythm Donor Entertainment.

About the Ritchie Valens Foundation:

Through the non-profit foundation, the three founders, Ruben Salazar, Esq., Roy Z Ramirez, and Krisna C.
