Furniture Sharehouse Celebrates its 10th Anniversary with "Power Of 10" Gala on October 28th

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Sept. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's Furniture Bank, will host its "Power of 10" Gala on Friday, October 28^th, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club. With over 300 guests expected, the event will celebrate the upcoming 10^th Anniversary of Furniture Sharehouse and raise funds to provide free furniture to local families who cannot afford a bed to sleep on or a table to share a family meal.

Since 2007, Furniture Sharehouse has distributed over 57,000 items worth over $3.4 million to more than 10,000 individuals in need from their warehouse located at Westchester County Airport. Furniture Sharehouse addresses a critical and growing need in Westchester County by providing free furniture to those moving out of homeless shelters into apartments as well as other economically challenged individuals and families that do not have funds for furnishings.

Furniture Sharehouse's "Power of 10" Gala will honor Westhab, Inc. for its partnership and support over the last ten years. "Westhab was our first member agency, and they assisted us from the very beginning with furniture pick-ups, volunteer crews, warehouse construction projects and more," says Kate Bialo, Furniture Sharehouse Executive Director. "They are the largest non-profit provider of affordable housing and supportive services in Westchester and their support has helped us to achieve our own mission — helping families in need to rebuild their lives." Dave Vitullo of D & L Associates will also be honored as 'Mover of the Decade'. "Dave has been 'putting the furniture' in Furniture Sharehouse for the last ten years, and we wouldn't be here without him," says Bialo.

Guests will enjoy an open bar, a sumptuous buffet dinner and dessert bar. Master of Ceremonies will be Bruce Figlar, a popular radio host on 107.1 the Peak and long-time supporter of Furniture Sharehouse.

The Gala will showcase Furniture Sharehouse's fabulous signature Designer Vignettes staged by prominent designers using donated one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and decorative accents as part of the evening's Silent Auction. "We have a very talented group of designers who are busy creating exciting vignettes for our 'Power of 10' Gala," says Nicola Rosendorff, Gala Co-Chair. "In addition, W. L. Landau - Ethan Allen is donating an entire living room of new, gorgeous furniture for their vignette, so our guests will have an amazing opportunity to bid on a dazzling array of new, stylish and unique furniture. We are also introducing our new 'Boutique', featuring high-end decorative accessories where you can find the perfect item to complete your décor," adds Rosendorff.

The Designers' Committee includes Stacy Belkind, Marina Bigi, Kathleen Brenner, Donna Bouley, Diana Cannon, Sylvia Chandras, Jacqueline Cutler, Janine Ducoin-Arnold, Jacky Dufour, Helen Kippax, Elyssa Grayer, Margo Hotston, Mary Lazin, Judy Levine, Alexandra Padin, Danielle Alcantara-Reinhardt, Kathy Vigoda, and Cami Weinstein. Each designer is donating their time, talent, and resources to make the 'Power of 10' Gala a success.
