18th Annual Suitlandfest presents "The Connextionz Expo"

CAMP SPRINGS, Md. - Sept. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- The Connextionz Expo will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 11am-6pm at Suitland Community Center 5600 Regency Lane Forestville, MD. This event will serve as a fall celebration for the youth and community reunion with live entertainment, vendors, speakers and community empowerment activities. The event is presented by Community Connextionz & Suitland Recreation Council.

The purpose of the Connextionz Expo is to provide local families, especially the youth, with positive and educational options. The youth will be introduced to different community organizations and outreach initiatives.

"The point is to raise awareness about the need to teach the youth how to become community advocates." says Tara "CaribGem" Lewis.

The day has two leading themes 'Support the Youth' and 'Operation Outreach'. The 'Support the Youth' theme provides youth with the opportunity to participate in various activities such as media workshops, arts & crafts, cooking classes, entrepreneurship workshops and health education.  The 'Operation Outreach' theme provides the youth with exposure to various community organizations. The youth will learn about what each organization does and participate interactively through collecting and sorting donations, assembling lunches for the homeless, writing positive messages and more.
