Main Street Music Fest Moves to Merriweather Post Pavilion - All Proceeds From Festival To Aid Ellic

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - Sept. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- The 5th edition of the Main Street Music Fest will be held on Saturday, September 24th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. The fest has been a major event in Old Ellicott City the past four years, drawing thousands to the historic town on the Patapsco River.

Due to the flooding on July 30th which left the town in ruins, organizers faced a decision: cancel or move the festival elsewhere this year. In stepped Merriweather Post Pavilion, offering up the historic outdoor venue so the festival could go on, with all proceeds from the event going to aid residents and merchants in Old Ellicott City whose homes and businesses were lost to the flood.

Main Street Music Fest is a family­-friendly festival that will feature 60 bands on 6 stages, with popular alternative rockers Toad The Wet Sprocket headlining, and dozens of artists from the Mid­-Atlantic region joining the bill. Toad The Wet Sprocket released the hit singles "Walk onthe Ocean" and "All I Want"; their 1991 album 'fear' was their first of two platinum-certified albums. The fest will also feature the Main Street Market Place, Star Wars Village, beer garden, and food from Ellicott City restaurants.

Tickets to Main Street Music Fest are $12; kids 11 and under get in free. Two VIP packages are also available: The VIP Experience is $60, which includes VIP area access, official MSMF poster, VIP parking, VIP entrance, commemorative VIP laminate, and special VIP seating in the pavilion.
