Flutist Peter H. Bloom, Veteran of Famed Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, Marks the Band's 44th Season

SOMERVILLE, Mass. - Sept. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Noted jazz flutist Peter H. Bloom has performed with the venerable Aardvark Jazz Orchestra (Mark Harvey founder and music director) for almost 40 years.  The storied jazz orchestra kicks off its historic 44^th season September 29, 2016, at 8 pm at Scullers Jazz Club, Doubletree Guest Suites, 400 Soldiers Field Road, Boston MA.  Tickets are $25.  Call 617-562-4111.

The Aardvark show on September 29 will feature the world premiere of Mark Harvey's latest piece, Northeast Express, a rollicking shuffle blues evoking the roar and romance of trains for more than a century along the Northeast Corridor.  The Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, founded in 1973, is one of the longest running large jazz ensembles in the world.  Aardvark has been called "stunning" (Billboard.com), "brilliant" (CultureJazz.Fr) and "one of the best jazz ensembles in the world" (Jazz Podium, Germany).  Jazz Times praised the band's "lush sonorities and a saxophonic blend worthy of Ellington's finest reed sections."
