IAMART NYC Takes Over Brooklyn with Inaugural Two-Day Family-Friendly Showcase of Art, Food & Music

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sept. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- IAMART*NYC, presented by MONSTER Products will present its inaugural two-day event at Brooklyn's Industry City located on the waterfront in Sunset Park. This ultimate artisan showcase welcomes the entire family and will take place Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, 2016.

IAMART*NYC, created by a collective of event professionals who selected New York City to kick-off their four-city international tour celebrating art as a life form. 'Art is expressed in countless ways and too many it's just a way of life.  IAMART* NYC was created to because it's my belief that art is in everyone.  You're art, we're art, I am art' - Earl Silas, creator of IAMART*NYC 2016.

IAMART*NYC will include:

An Artisan Showcase: curated by Martin Galindo, the IAMART Experience will showcase contemporary artists including King Saladeen, BK the Artist and Jay West. In addition to art installations the showcase will include live painting and The Young Picasso Award presentation. The award will be given to the top young artisans in Brooklyn.  We've partnered with NYC Public Schools, inviting artists from grades K-8 to enter two dimensional artwork such as print, painting, photography or drawings.  The 25 finalists will be judged by a panel of judges on Saturday, October 1st at 1:00 P.M.  The winners will be recognized by their respective schools, communities as well as awarded a scholarship to attend a NYU digital art program in the summer of 2017.

Art of Plating: curated by emerging culinary artists, Chef Glaze and Chef Shana, who will present culinary demonstrations for attendees.

Car Culture: curated by Martino Auto Concepts featuring some of the most dynamic display of high-performance automobile artistry in the Tri-State area.

Food & Beverage Pavilion: a designated area which will feature numerous food vendors highlighting cuisine from around the globe as well as beer and wine stations (only for guests ages 21 and over with identifiable wristbands).

IAMART*NYC - KIDS Pavilion: two-days of programming with instructor-led arts & crafts activities, creative storytelling, canvas free-paint, DJ lessons, face and finger painting, art-tech demonstrations by Microsoft and much more. We've partnered with NYC Public Schools, the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President, Industry City and Brooklyn Community Service (BCS) to create the I AM ART NYC - KIDS Pavillion.

IAMART*NYC - MAINSTAGE: live music performances curated by the critically-acclaimed Freedom Dance Party (featuring DJ Cosi and Herbert Holler). Special guests will include world-renowned DJ Envy, DJ CEO, Mihoko, DJ Eli Escobar, DJ Young Chow and more. On Saturday, October 1, two special performances by Grammy-award nominated and international duo Les Nubians and Grammy-award nominated soul singer-songwriter Eric Roberson and Brooklyn's youngest rock band, Unlocking the Truth.

I AM ART*NYC - KIDS programming will take place each day from 12:00 - 4:00 P.M. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
