Nerve Lantern Pays Tribute to Yoko Ono in Special Digital Issue

GOLETA, Calif. - Oct. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Nerve Lantern: Axon of Performance Literature, a journal of performance texts and writings about performance, today released "Dear Yoko: A Tribute to Yoko Ono" as a digital issue.

         "Dear Yoko" features 21 performance texts inspired by the Fluxus artist's conceptual art and ideas. Poets Joel Allegretti and Jay Besemer served as guest editors.

         "The interest generated by the 2015 retrospective of Yoko Ono's art at The Museum of Modern Art in New York reminded us of how her visual art, performance art, music, and poetry continue to inspire performance artists today," said Ellen Redbird, Nerve Lantern editor-in-chief. "Yoko Ono's vision and activism speak to the experimental poets' theater community that Nerve Lantern seeks to serve."

         "Dear Yoko" comprises writings and artwork by Joel Allegretti, Jay Besemer, Christine Choi, Merridawn Duckler, Stephanie Heit, Ioana Jucan, Mary Kasimor, Kevin Killian & Rex Ray, Hannah Rodabaugh, James Sanders, John J. Trause, Harris Vitaliani, and Donald Zirilli.
