By: drawchange Inc Participants traveled from as far as California and were entertained from start to finish. Throughout the route artists and live musicians were at key points to encourage and entertain the senses. Professional side walk chalk, spray painting, drawing, saxophone-playing and even banjo playing was everywhere to be found! "The whole day was amazing!" says Kantrel. Kantrel is an eight year old recipient of drawchange's programs at homeless shelter. Drawchange had donated transportation services for its programs' recipients so they can be in attendance. The entire event is a 100% volunteer effort, including its race director, Marck Dorvil. "Seeing and hearing the drawchange children express how grateful they were in seeing us there to support them made all the long hours of planning more then worth while. We are ready for a much larger turn out. It is a 5k ready to exponentially grow in size in its fourth year!" Drawchange is grateful for the many corporate sponsors as well as individual donations given in support of the 5k fundraising event. 100% of its proceeds are staying in the city of Atlanta to help grow the current programs into empowering more homeless youth to achieve their dreams. Sponsors included Chili's Lindbergh, Loews Atlanta Hotel, Kenneth S. Nugent, PC and 77 12th to mention a few. Jennie Lobato, founder/CEO of drawchange exclaims, "We can't wait to have more fun and raise tons of more money for Atlanta's homeless youth population next year! Stay tuned, Atlanta!" Drawchange's mission is supplying impoverished children with empowering art experiences to help them visualize a break to their cycle of poverty. Please visit: www.drawchange.org/ End
