2016 Butterfly Teams Tournament: Once Again Philadelphia Hosts High Profile Table Tennis

PHILADELPHIA - Oct. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Having hosted the 2008 USA Table Tennis Olympic Trials and the extremely exciting 2016 ITTF Women's World Cup, Philadelphia once again returns to the table tennis spotlight Thanksgiving weekend (November 25-27^th) as the host of the 2016 Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams tournament. Tournament director Danny Seemiller and tournament referee Kagin Lee look forward to welcoming teams from around the country and beyond to the City of Brotherly Love for an amazing weekend of competition.

The 2016 Butterfly Teams competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 25^th at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center located just 6 miles from downtown Philadelphia. Teams will be divided into divisions and will then compete within their division for prizes. In divisions 2-8, the top two team finishers either earn prize money (division 2) or custom trophies/awards (division 3-8). In division 1, the winners will take home $3,000 in prize money, with prize money extending through 6^th place.

In 2015, teams competed from all over the world including from Asia and Latin America at the Butterfly Thanksgiving Teams event. Level of play was exceedingly high, as 34 players rated over 2450 entered in 2015 with "NYC Table Tennis Academy" taking top honors.
