United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Pivot Turn Video

RALEIGH, N.C. - Nov. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- The United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on pivot turns in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app available at Google Play.

The new "Pivot Turn" (https://youtu.be/sPy7gGa8xow) video shows viewers how to turn their boats by safely executing a pivot turn of at least 180-degrees within a space of 1-to-2 boat lengths.

Viewers will learn how to alternate turning their helms from one side to the other while in neutral and smoothly shifting into forward and reverse gears at idle speed to complete their pivot turns.

Also featured are special tips such as keeping an eye on a fixed point on the shore to help ensure that the boat does not go too far forward or backward as it turns, how to adjust for strong wind or current, and how to stop a pivot turn.

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is unveiling a new Animations section of the digital media library as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its "Pivot Turn" video through popular social media including Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/USPSDML/) and YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1c_rFyt1fGqvdiSauAijAg). All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.
