NEW YORK - Nov. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- TalkLocal co-founder and head of products Amandeep Bakshi spoke at the Maxim Group Consumer Technology Conference which took placeon November 10th in New York City. Joining moderator and Sr. Consumer Internet Analyst Tom Forte, Amandeep and fellow panelists reflected on future innovation in the e-commerce technology space. TalkLocal is a participant in LaunchPad, an initiative by the PNA to connect publishers with tech providers. TalkLocal, a digital marketplace and tech provider, powers integrated technologies that connect online shoppers to home services providers.

"Outsiders are often surprised that Pinterest, Facebook, and Google would make a play for online shopping; players like these and their technologies are emerging as a transformative force in the e-commerce landscape," Aman explained.

TalkLocal has played an innovative role for both traditional and emerging competitors in the e-commerce space. For industry behemoth Amazon, TalkLocal powers an Amazon Echo skill that lets people say their needs and quickly get matched to plumbing professionals- more service categories launching on Echo soon. Facebook, a newer entrant into the space, tapped TalkLocal as well; in this case, to power "Get Quote" buttons that let people send a message to a select business and get referred to an alternative company if the business doesn't respond right away. Other tech integration partners include Yahoo, BBB, and Porch.

With TalkLocal, people submit a service request describing their service needs, location, and availability then stand by to hear from a local professional within minutes who knows your problem and wants to help on your schedule. TalkLocal filters out companies based on location, reviews, availability, and more. Up to three top-matching businesses listen to the job details and then opt into a conversation in real time; paying companies get charged a small flat rate each time they speak to a customer through the service.

TalkLocal (http://www.talklocal.com) has raised $4 million in venture and Angel funding, served customers in 49 states, and delivered nearly 2.5 million calls to matching businesses to date. It offers 50 service categories including roofing, accountants, and heating and cooling. Request a service by messaging @TalkLocal on Facebook or download the app for free from iOS, Google Play, or Amazon Echo.
