Moss & Associates Wins Best Project Award for Opal Sands Resort

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Moss & Associates, a national privately held construction firm headquartered in Florida, was presented with the best project award in the residential/hospitality category by Engineering News-Record Southeast on Nov. 15 for its construction of Opal Sands Resort on Clearwater Beach.  Moss & Associates completed the complex beachfront project in February 2016 after 27 months of construction.

John Bowden, vice president of Moss & Associates, accepted the award on behalf of the Moss team at the 16th annual award ceremony, which was held at the Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate. Two independent judging panels chose Moss as the recipient of this award. In all, 90 projects throughout Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico competed in 14 categories. Moss' outstanding safety practices, ability to easily overcome obstacles and superb construction quality stood out from the rest of the applicants. This honor qualifies Moss & Associates for ENR's national Project of the Year Award.

Opal Sands Resort is a 15-story, 460,000-square-foot hotel with 230 rooms, 39 of which are suites, located on the last available beachfront site of the City of Clearwater Beach's development area.

The unique, curved shape of the building takes advantage of the site and provides unrestricted guestroom and balcony views of the Gulf of Mexico.
