Follow on Google News | Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter Presents Inaugural "Platinum Pearl Cabaret"By: Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of AKA This event helps fund programs for the chapter that will benefit the DeKalb County community. The program initiatives for Lambda Epsilon Omega chapter include Educational Enrichment which focuses on the sorority's signature youth enrichment program, ASCEND - Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Developmental Skills and donation of school supplies and support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities; Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter performed more than 45 community service projects in DeKalb County in 2016 with various fundraisers. The chapter expects to increase the number of funds earmarked for future community service projects in 2017. This festive atmosphere offers a "Grown Folks" Chicago/Midwest Cabaret style event, so feel free to bring your favorite beverage. There will be a complimentary Dance Workshop from 9pm to 10pm for registered attendees. Suggested attire is Silver Sass and Grey Swag (no jeans or sneakers allowed). Music will be provided by DJ SAMPSONITE. Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on June 26, 1976 and is the second oldest graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in the Metro Atlanta area. Since its chartering, Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter has grown from its original 21 charter members to a current working membership of almost 400 members and has successfully rendered "Supreme Service" to their community. The DeKalb county chapter also provides additional community service and scholarships through their nonprofit 501(c)(3) Forever Pink Foundation, Inc., which was established in 1985, and has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships via their "Debutante Cotillion" held annually in March.
