Follow on Google News | ![]() Global Entertainment Technology CEO Dain L. Schult Announces Addition of El Jefe Grande FormatGET CEO, Dain L. Schult, remarked, "Tejano has a fascinating history. It grew out the melding of German and Czech polka music with Mexican love songs – almost akin to mixing chocolate and peanut butter to create a popular candy snack. The German and Czech settlers in Texas in the 1840's and 1850's built a number of communities in the state and brought along their cuisine, customs and music. It was only a matter of time that the influence of Mexican music already rooted in the state would intermingle with the polka music and viola – Tejano was born. "GET's planned American Internet & Radio division will feature El Jefe Grande on both its planned Terrestrial and Internet radio stations. The format will also be available for syndication through Amerirep, GET's media rep and syndication division to other radio station across the country. "El Jefe Grande", will include elements of other regional musical elements from "south of the border" such as Conjuncto and El Norteno. As with all GET/AIR formats it will contain a larger music library basis than competing formats insuring against repetition or listener burnout."
