Over 150 High School Students Attend Plant Tours At Florida First Coast Manufacturing Facilities

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dec. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- As a part of "National Manufacturing Month" and with an effort by the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) to educate high school students to the opportunities offered by the manufacturing industry, six FCMA manufacturing members conducted on-site tours for over 150 area students.

Participating FCMA members represented various types of manufacturing located in Duval, Clay and St. Johns counties. Students were given full tours of facilities and company officials explained their manufacturing processes as well as outlining requirements for employment and potential employee benefits.

Soler Palau – Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology

Saft – Baker High School

US Gypsum – Bishop Kenny High School

Vac-Con – Clay County High School, Orange Park High School, Ridgeview High School

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies – Creekside High School

Rulon International – St. Johns Technical High School

         The First Coast Manufacturers Association is a non-profit trade association serving Northeast Florida. There are over 1,500 manufacturing companies on the First Coast, supplying over 30,000 jobs and generating nearly 15% of the total gross regional product.
