By: Angels of Las Vegas "It's always nice to see the smiles on the kids faces. To have the community come together and help those in need, especially children, is what the holidays are all about," said Workneh, president of Angels of Las Vegas (AOLV), a non-profit that hosts an annual toy drive to benefit kids unable to be home for the holidays. "We are thankful for all our volunteers and businesses for collecting the toys. Without them, this would not be possible." AOLV, business owners and volunteers delivered a truck full of toys to dozens of smiling children at St. Rose Hospital in Henderson on Christmas-eve as families looked on and were able to leave toys at the hospital so they can have enough throughout the year. The charity collected over 700 new unwrapped toys and 22 bikes donated through Victory Martial Art, Sin City Salseros and other businesses throughout December at various locations in Southern Nevada, including an event last week sponsored by Firefly restaurant on Paradise Road in Las Vegas. AOLV extended their donation to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department families battling illnesses, single moms with kids, kids with autism, diabetes, for a mother that is a cancer survivors with four kids and a family that lost everything in a house fire.
