CAMDEN, N.J. - Jan. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- The new year was off to a good start for eight young adults on January 4th.  The Young Urban Leaders (YUL), a non-profit organization based in Camden, NJ, accompanied these young men and women to our nation's capital, for a tour of the White House. This was the last day to get a public tour while President Barack Obama was still in office.  The group, ages 22-24, are all residents of Camden County.   The ATS Group in Camden sponsored the entire trip, and their donation afforded a few of the young adults to purchase business attire for the visit.  After the White House, the group also visited the Lincoln Memorial and dined at the famous Busboys and Poets. Each experience that day was an opportunity for Sean Brown, the founder/director of YUL, and other accompanying leaders to educate and mentor the young adults on etiquette, social nuances, self-awareness, and public speaking.

When asked about why he scheduled the trip and how it impacted the group, says Brown, "I scheduled (it) because it's important for young people to be in a professional environment and see that there are other people of color in positions of power.  I received positive feedback from everyone that went on the trip.  Many of them expressed that it was the highlight of their life.

These young adults are just beginning to truly learn and experience what it's like to be an adult.  The YUL has made it their mission to mentor and provide experiences like these to young adults since it's inception in 2009.  This was the third time the organization has escorted a group to the White House, but the fifth trip to Washington, DC.  With continued support from businesses like ATSG and others in the community, it won't be the last.
