MÖDLING, Austria - March 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Adrian Goiginger's semi-autobiographical debut feature film The Best of All Worlds (Die beste aller Welten) (https://winterfilmawards.com/film/wfa18-the-best-of-all-worlds/) was honored at New York City's 7th annual Winter Film Awards International Film Festival (https://winterfilmawards.com/wfa2018/), taking home awards for Best Director and Best Actor (child actor Jeremy Miliker) and nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Score.

Loosely based on his true-life story, The Best of All Worlds (2017, Austria, 103 mins) is a poignant account of Director Adrian Goiginger's upbringing by heroin-addicted parents. The film tells the story of a drug addicted mother, the adventurous world of her child and their love for each other. Adrian's childhood is spent in an exceptional environment, the junkie scene of Salzburg and with a mother moving between caring and being high. One day he wants to become an adventurer. Despite everything, he experiences a protected childhood, the best of all worlds, until the outside world cannot be kept outside any longer. Helga realises she might lose her son forever if she doesn't become clean. For this she needs to challenge her inner demons.

The film's producer, Wolfgang G. Ritzberger, explains "The little Adrian in the movie is the director as a young child – it is not only a true story, it is the story about the director's childhood. His mother died in 2012 because of cancer. She had been clean for almost 12 years and Adrian Goiginger was starting the script about his mother, his stepfather and his childhood – a tribute to his mother, to her love and strength – a movie about a love story between a mother and her child."

Winter Film Awards international jury raves "It's a realistic, heart wrenching , true story. The acting was incredible, especially the leading little boy's performance made me cry. The way of telling the story was genuine and objective."

At a glittering ceremony Saturday March 3 at the legendary Copacabana Nightclub in NYC, Winter Film Awards was proud to recognize the outstanding achievement of 15 films, and honored Carl Goodman, Executive Director of the Museum of the Moving Image as the 2018 Patron of the Cinema (https://winterfilmawards.com/2018/02/carl-goodman-to-rece...).
