By: Vacation Ownership by The Villa Group Resorts Playa Mujeres: Certainly one of Cancun's best beaches, Playa Mujeres is the beach which the Villa del Palmar Cancun resort overlooks. The turquoise waters here are good for swimming and there is an idyllic pier that Villa del Palmar Cancun guests can explore at their leisure. The beach is served by happy waiters, bringing drinks and snacks to your sunloungers as well as sunglass cleaning services and spa treatments. Playa Delfines: Playa Delfines is one of the largest beaches in Cancun and is generally the busiest; the blue waters here are some of the best for water sports. It's pretty common to see parasailers, jet skiers and pelicans on the water out here. The beach is mostly public access. Playa Tortugas: Playa Tortugas is one of the Cancun's best beaches in the Hotel Zone for young families as the waves are almost non-existent. What's more the ocean front restaurants, marina, and bungee tower mean that you'll never be stuck for things to do. Avoid weekends, though, as it's a small beach and gets very crowded at this time of the week. Playa Forum: Playa Forum, or Playa Gaviota Azul, is found behind Coco Bongo in the famous Punta Cancun area and can be considered the most popular public beach in the city. If you're after a fun, social vibe and a relaxed atmosphere then this is the place to be. You can go up the market at the Mandala Beach Club, or just chill out on the sand. Playa Chac Mool: Chac Mool is the favorite of Cancun locals due to its white sands, amazing waters and central location, but the real benefit of this beach is that it tends to be quieter and less crowded than all the others. There are no loungers, beach bars or umbrellas sadly, but a day resting on the sands could be a great day out. Bring a few towels and a picnic to enjoy in the afternoon sun. Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres: Though not in Cancun city Playa Norte is just close enough, and just wonderful enough, to snag a place on this list. The waters here are shallow, clear and almost free of waves (plus there are no rocks to stub your toes on), More than this, however, the sunsets that can be seen here are phenomenal; they constitute the only sunsets over open ocean (without interruption or blockage) that you'll find on your vacation to Cancun.
