Montclair Art Museum Presents Weather Weather Week October 15–22

Weeklong Series Features Art Talks, Film Screenings, Performances, and Readings in partnership with Montclair Public Library, Citizens Climate Lobby, Montclair State University Environmental Club, and Toni's Kitchen

MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Oct. 6, 2017 - PRLog -- The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) is currently presenting Charles E. Burchfield: Weather Event, an exhibition that examines the renowned artist's lyrical landscape watercolors and drawings through both an artistic and scientific lens. To mark the fifth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, MAM is providing an exhibition-related opportunity to look at current issues of weather and climate change. The Museum will present a weeklong series of events to inform and inspire action in partnership with Montclair Public Library, Montclair Citizens Climate Lobby, Montclair State University Environmental Club, and Toni's Kitchen.

In addition to scheduled activities, several initiatives will be ongoing through the week. Montclair Public Library will offer a family-friendly Weather Week game. Get creative, explore, and discover weather in your community for a chance to win a family membership at MAM. MAM will also continue its #MAMweather social media contest. Share photos of your own weather events, from stormy skies to sunset clouds and sunbursts, with the hashtag #MAMweather on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook for a chance to be featured in the galleries and on the Museum's social media. The Museum will also serve as a drop-off point for donations for hurricane relief, coordinated with Toni's Kitchen. Bring healthy non-perishables, diapers, cleaning supplies, and toiletries to the Museum through October 22.
