Catalytic Combustion Corp. Awarded Long-Term Services Contract for a Tier III Data Center

BLOOMER, Wis. - Oct. 13, 2017 - PRLog -- Catalytic Combustion Corporation announced today that their Power Emissions Group has received a new order for  parts and services work on 40 MW of stationary diesel engines at a Tier III certified data center as designated by the Uptime Institute. The data center has Tier IV emissions equipment installed that is required by the local air permitting authority. The Tier IV emissions equipment not to be confused with the Tier III or Tier IV ratings within the data center industry which refer to uptime rather than emissions (emissions standards also refer to tiers for identification). The confidential client's diesel engines have NOx, CO and PM reduction technologies installed to limit pollutants while these engines are being tested or used for power generation. The client, a LEED certified data center, sought a firm offering reliable, thorough, and prompt prevention and service for their power generation emissions control equipment for a five (5) year preventive maintenance (PM) contract with options for renewals. The client facility is a mission critical facility for a national health group used to provide remote healthcare services and medical records repository. A Tier III data center is concurrently maintainable, allowing for any planned maintenance activity of power and cooling systems to take place without disrupting the operation of computer hardware located in the data center. It has 99.982% uptime,no more than 1.6 hours of downtime per year and an N+1 fault tolerant providing at least 72-hour power outage protection. Prevention of costly downtime is the reason preventive maintenance contracts performed by experienced firms is so critical for data centers.
