By: Sunshine Ace Hardware Hammerhead's Ace Hardware opened in 2005 by the Gessert family, who previously owned and operated hardware stores in Dunedin and Oldsmar, Florida, before building the Hammerhead's business complex at 1015 West Bay Drive in Largo. Together, owners Bill and Sue Gessert and the Gessert family set out to establish a unique business offering. This included adding a glamorous gift shop within the hardware complex. Unmarked from the outside, this 5,000-square- "Hammerhead's Ace Hardware built a great business, which naturally attracted our attention. Sunshine Ace Hardware has appointed Hammerhead's Ace Hardware employee, Jeffery Gawel as the store manager, a role previously held by Bill Gessert, the previous owner. Hammerhead's Ace Hardware employees will continue in their current roles, and will be critical to the store's continued success.
