Lithium is the simplest possible drug and, cannot be metabolized by the body. Lithium has a defined therapeutic/
toxic ratio and requires continuous monitoring (Accepted [Li] in serum: 0.6-1.2 mM; Fatal if [Li] > 1.5 mM).
