4 New Board Members Added as RCom takes on Competition

DELHI, India - Oct. 30, 2017 - PRLog -- Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications has shuffled the directorial board, adding 4 new members to it as a part of their new strategy to take on competitors in the much populated 4G telecom market. Punit Garg, president, telecom Business has been appointed as Executive Director of Reliance Communications while Manikantan V, who is the Chief Financial Officer, has been elevated as Director of the company.

Along with them, Suresh Rangachar, who heads the fibre and tower business as Director of Reliance Infratel Ltd (RITL), a subsidiary, has been elevated as Executive Director of RITL.  Gurdeep Singh, co-CEO and CEO of the Mobility Business, has also been promoted as Executive Director of Reliance Telecom Ltd, a subsidiary of the firm. Both Rangachar and Singh have been with the company for the last 17 and 6 years respectively.

The company is also strengthening its position with the acquisition of the mobile business of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL) into RCom will be completed this month. The merger would bring valuable spectrum holdings to the company in the 800-850 MHz band, which will solidify RCom's spectrum portfolio with an increase of 30 Mhz as well as extend its spectrum validity period in 8 important circles by another 16 years to 2033. It already has spectrum across 800, 900,1800 and 2100 Mhz spectrum bands aggregating 200 Mhz.
