COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nov. 28, 2017 - PRLog -- If a marriage is built on lies is it still a commitment? The debut modern set novella, Evergreen Drive written by S. A. Jenkins, explores this topic in a series of engrossing twists. The devolving union of a marriage is seen through the eyes of Erika Hunt, a housewife on the verge of despair.

Evergreen Drive is a succinct tale that grips the reader from the first chapter and then continues on to deliver boundless waves of mystery and intrigue. Erika's life with her husband Evan is pushed into the darkest corners of doubt all while introducing other characters that challenge the ideals of love and its origin.

"I'm not enthused by juvenile arguments or baseless conflicts, so I wanted to tell a mature story without losing the melodrama", says Jenkins. The book's arc confronts notions of fleeting love versus the commitments one must keep, with bold questions about identity and the loving connection most people seek. She continues, "I feel like an intimate tale of this nature should allow the reader to become a spectator. As if, hearing one side of a dispute".

Jenkins pulls from classic depictions of infidelity, yet, she uses a fast-paced delivery- allowing for a well told story to remain interesting and at times rousing. Living in central Ohio, raised in Mid-Michigan, the influences of her Mid-Western surroundings are displayed in her appreciation of this conventional couple's turmoil and the hesitation to end their marriage.

Jenkins lends her experiences with being an artist to the narrative of Erika, the young wife and mother retains her dedication to the arts, giving her an identity beyond these roles. As Erika navigates the revelations she maintains a will to be confrontational, in addition to, being a disheartened shell of her former self. A grounded story of love betrayed, the composition avoids cliché expectations or interactions, guiding the plot to a surprising conclusion.
