Local Companies Banding Together to Fight Hunger!

PORTLAND, Ore. - Dec. 8, 2017 - PRLog -- More than a dozen local businesses are working together to accept donations across the Portland-Salem metropolitan areas to raise food, money and awareness for the Oregon Food Bank Network and Marion-Polk Food Share.

The 10th Annual Great Holiday Food Drive is underway now through Wednesday, December 20th with 16 locations around the Portland-Salem Metro area collecting donations.

The Goal: RAISE OVER 70,000 LBS OF FOOD FOR THE OREGON FOOD BANK NETWORK & MARION-POLK FOOD SHARE!

In an effort to make it easy to donate anywhere within the metro area, people can also donate to any New Green Cab Driver around the Portland-Salem Metro Area when taking their New Green Cab taxi trip!

Online donations can also be made at onlinedonations.food-drive.com to support the Oregon Food Bank Network.

The food banks are always short on food during the holiday season regardless of economic situations and hardships. According to the Oregon Food Bank:

36% of respondents visit a pantry 12 or more times a year, up from 31% in 2012

56% of households said regular food support helped with their monthly budget

Despite economic conditions, the need for food assistance is on-going. The need for community support and assistance is imperative for organizations like the Oregon Food Bank Network to continue to make a difference and help those in need.
