United Premier Soccer League Announces Florida Conference Expansion with Pinecrest Soccer Club

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 27, 2017 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Pinecrest Soccer Club as a new member starting with the 2018 Spring Season.

Based in South Florida, Pinecrest SC begins UPSL play in the South Florida Conference.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "South Florida is home to some of the best soccer on the North American continent, and we're pleased to welcome Pinecrest Soccer Club to the UPSL starting in 2018. Director of Coaching Giuseppe DePalo is a believer in the UPSL's Pro/Rel Model, and the club is building the backbone for what is sure to be a competitive program for seasons to come. We wish Giuseppe DePalo and Pinecrest SC luck as they prepare to kick off in 2018."

A native of Milan, Italy, Giuseppe DePalo, 46, is Director of Coaching for Pinecrest Soccer Club. Formerly a professional player with the Connecticut Wolves (USL) and a long-time collegiate coach, DePalo will serve as the team's first head coach.

Pinecrest SC Head Coach Giuseppe DePalo said, "I spoke to the president of the board and he shares my vision for the club. We have a few guys coaching in the club who are former college players of mine and are still young and fit and ready to play. We'll have an interesting group and we're excited to get started. I think we'll do quite well. We're in a location to get players from Broward County down to South Miami and into the city, so we're in a pretty centrally-located area."

Pinecrest SC operates full boys and girls programs, from recreation to competitive to U.S. Soccer Development Academy, and is the largest youth soccer club is Florida's Miami-Dade County.

"We want to develop our full program, all the way from 4- and 5-year-old to seniors," DePalo said. "It's all part of the growing process, but the club is definitely taking on challenges and moving in the right direction."

The club currently is finalizing venue options in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards. The team soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 110 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 125-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
