4th Annual Adopt-A-Family Fundraiser Raises Money and Spirits for Needy Families in Southern Nevada

LAS VEGAS - Jan. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- The Ogden Family Foundation did its part to spread holiday cheer by providing delicious meals, toys and other necessities for needy families during its 4^th Annual Adopt Family event at and sponsored by the Whist Stove and Spirits located at The District in Henderson. Thanks to the generous support of donors, sponsors and volunteers, the non-profit organization was able to adopt 19 families, which was nearly 100 people. Former Governor Bob Miller and former NFL running back Steven Jackson were both in attendance at the event.

         "Due to having another successful toy drive (that supports the Adopt a Family event), we were able to provide numerous toys to all of the kids within the adopted families and with the support of the community, we were able to provide household necessities to the families as well," said Kema Ogden, Co-Founder of The Ogden Family Foundation. "Since Adopt-A-Family began three years ago, we have been able to help more than 400 people during the holiday season."

         Several organizations have benefited from this event over the years that included St. Jude's Ranch, Safe Nest, Hope Link and many foster and behavioral health agencies.

         Adopted families were also given needed items like clothing, groceries, hygiene items, and a family even received two mattresses. Additional items that were provided to the families were outings (movie tickets, Chuck E Cheese, Magical Forest), as well as gift cards to Wal-Mart, household items like pots and pans, toiletries, and a couple of families were even gifted with TV's.
