By: Algoworks The entire office of Algoworks was decorated beautifully and the employees were given a warm welcome by the HR team with the distribution of traditional Lohri delicacies, revdi and peanuts. Everyone dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire. Just like past years, Algoworks' employees competed in the Bhangra competition - the famous Punjabi dance form - organized by the Spasso team in this fun-filled event. Four teams, namely 'Wakhra Swag', 'Kaint Kudiyaan', 'Bhangra Pirates', and 'Last Minute Bhangra Group', competed against each other to claim the first position. Participants gave brilliant and memorable performances, awestrucking judges and the audience alike. Judges evaluated acts on the basis of creativity, synchronization and choreography, and announced the winners. Team 'Bhangra Pirates' (Divya Sharma, Saumya Dixit, Shanu Singh, Mohammad Shariq, Gautam Upreti, Shiv Mishra, Harsh Chaudhary) won the competition with their mind blowing performance. Team 'Last Minute Bhangra Group' (Sonia Rana, Rohit Jaitly, Charanjeet Singh, Maneet Sehgal, Bharat Kumar Verma, Manpreet Singh, Vibhor Papneja, Ramneet Kour) stood second in the competition by giving an amazing and fun performance. Ajeet Singh, who was one of the judges, remarked, "All four teams were brilliant. While Team 3 Bhangra Pirates used the most entertaining props, Team 2 Kaint Kudiyan were the ones who burnt the dance floor with flawless performance and harmonious flow to their act, scoring the most on synchronization. Team 4 Last Minute Bhangra Group tried very hard to win everyone's heart with an entertaining performance and good creativity, but Team 1 Wakhra Swag, despite lacking on synchronization, bagged just about full points on choreography and creativity. Their idea of inventing and innovating unique Punjabi stunts backed by brilliant choice of songs clearly took them to the top, marking the perfect start and tribute to this beautiful festival of Lohri." After the Bhangra competition, everyone stepped onto the dance floor and danced their hearts out, having a great time together. The bonfire was lit, which is a common Lohri tradition, with people singing the traditional folk song around it. The day came to an end with the group photoshoot, and people bidding Happy Lohri to each other.
