Kennedy Wilson Closes Lease for The Waffle in Westwood Village

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 25, 2018 - PRLog -- Global real estate investment and services firm Kennedy Wilson has negotiated a $2.7 million retail lease for The Waffle, a modern, casual dining establishment open for breakfast and lunch in Westwood Village, California. Located at 10925 Weyburn Ave., this marks the restaurant's second location and official entry into the West Los Angeles market near the University of California, Los Angeles.

Christine Deschaine, senior vice president of brokerage at Kennedy Wilson, represented the landlord, Tucker Investment Group, with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank who also represented The Waffle.

"Westwood Village is experiencing a notable resurgence, and The Waffle is a perfect match for the demographics, especially with UCLA's more than 37,000 students just a short walk away," said Deschaine. "Restaurant consumers in the area are looking for a modern sit-down environment with a local feel, and The Waffle has a strong appeal to this generation."

The Waffle is the brainchild of owners Gain Polone and John Papsidera. The business partners opened their first location at 6255 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood out of their love for classic American diners. After building a cult following, the owners decided to expand to the West LA market.

The Waffle is moving into a space formerly occupied by the iconic Jerry's Deli. The restaurant joins a shopping center situated in the heart of Westwood Village, the home of UCLA, between Westwood Boulevard and Broxton Avenue. Nearby tenants in the center, anchored by the Regency Bruin Theater, include Pieology Pizzeria, Diddy Riese and Aveda Institute Los Angeles.
