Minika Ko Advocates #MeToo at New York Fashion Week

NEW YORK - Feb. 11, 2018 - PRLog -- New York City based fashion designer, Minika Ko, presented her "Goddess and Gladiator" avant-garde piece and a sneak preview of her 2018 collection at the #METOO Fashion Show at New York Fashion Week. Her pieces highlighted and celebrated the fearlessness that burns within her fellow women, and it is this same courage that has set the #MeToo movement aflame. Sponsored by American Wardrobe and produced by Myriam Chalek, the fashion show featured two of Minikas pieces and work from other designers who also dedicate their creation to the #MeToo movement. The show provided a powerful platform for models who suffered abuse, by breaking the silence and telling their stories.

Minika bonded with Alicia Kozakiewicz, the model who wore the Little Black Dress from the 2018 ready-to-wear collection, and Melissa Davis, who showcased a gown from the "Goddess and Gladiator" collection.

"I was horrified and heartbroken by the model's stories and awed by their courage to share and relive their traumas," said Minika, "Our commitment to the #MeToo movement and all it represents carries through every aspect of my work. My team and I were honored by the privilege to use design to magnify the gladiator within these goddesses."
