NASHVILLE, Tenn. - March 22, 2018 - PRLog -- The Tennessee Distillers Guild, a membership organization consisting of 26 Tennessee distilleries, is proud to announce the appointment of Kim Mitchell as the Tennessee Whiskey Trail's new Trail Manager. Mitchell's responsibilities as Trail Manager include managing the strategic direction and operations of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail which launched in June 2017.

Through her role as Trail Manager, Mitchell hopes to help build the TN Whiskey Trail brand, drive growth to local distilleries and communities, and introduce visitors to all the great spirits offered in Tennessee.

"I would like to see the communities around the distilleries see growth and for the Trail to become a tourist attraction that includes not only our spirits, but our restaurants, lodging and attractions too," she said. "The complete package of Tennessee hospitality."

Mitchell has been a staple to the Tennessee Whiskey Trail since before its launch, helping build key partnerships, organize and oversee Trail events, and coordinate Trail operations to prepare for the official launch of the Trail. In her role as Trail Manager, Mitchell will lead the development of the TN Whiskey Trail's strategy and assume all operational aspects of the Trail.

"Kim's background and persistence will be key drivers in the success of the Trail moving forward," said Rod Benkovich, Vice President of the TN Distillers Guild. "She will help continue to make the Trail a success."

Mitchell is a Maryville native and University of Tennessee alumna who has worked nearly her entire career in the event planning and tourism industry. Mitchell has worked in various restaurant, hospitality and event planning roles throughout East Tennessee, including at the Airport Hilton in Maryville, The Garden Inn in Oak Ridge, and a local non-profit called the Helen Ross McNabb Center Foundation. In 2014 she accepted the position with the Blount Partnership as the Director of Tourism, where she has worked ever since.

Mitchell has held various other positions, including as Executive Director of the TN Main Streets for Downtown Maryville; Board Member for the Downtown Association; Board Member Knoxville/Smoky Mountains Greenway Trails; and Board Member Townsend/Cades Cove Business Alliance.
