By: Fertility Specialists of Texas From April 23-27, 2018, Fertility Specialists of Texas is offering free AMH tests at its Dallas, Frisco and Southlake offices. While an appointment is required, the blood test and follow-up consultation are free to any woman that's interested in knowing her current egg reserve. On Tuesday, April 24th, Fertility Specialists of Texas will host a free seminar at its Frisco location to answer questions about infertility, the IVF process, egg freezing, surrogacy, costs and insurance, and much more. The event will be hosted by Dr. Rebecca Chilvers and feature families and advocates that have lived through every stage of infertility. "Infertility is something that affects 1 in 8 couples across all races, genders and economic backgrounds. We hope that our clinic's events, along with National Infertility Awareness Week, can educate women and men about the many family planning options that are available today," says Fertility Specialists of Texas Physician Dr. Rebecca Chilvers. Free AMH Test The Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) test helps predict whether a woman's biological clock is ticking faster or slower than expected. This simple blood test provides insight into a woman's ovarian reserve (egg count) and enables Fertility Specialists of Texas to make appropriate family planning recommendations. A woman with a low egg count may benefit from IVF if she's actively trying to conceive. If not, she may want to consider freezing her eggs. A woman with a high egg count should be screened for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which has serious metabolic and health implications in addition to affecting fertility. Fertility Specialists of Texas is offering the free AMH test to non-established patients who are excited to grow their families. The test is available at all three DFW-area locations during business hours. No insurance is necessary, but an appointment must be made in advance of the week of April 23rd. Space is limited, and appointments are made on a first come, first served basis. To schedule an appointment, call 214-618-2044. April 24th Fertility Seminar The free seminar on April 24th is appropriate for women and men, as singles or couples that have questions about infertility or family planning. Dr. Chilvers will present on a broad spectrum of topics including causes of infertility, the infertility evaluation, IUI, IVF, fertility preservation (egg freezing), male-factor infertility, and preimplantation genetic screening of embryos. Attendees are welcome to ask about costs associated with treatment or insurance concerns, as well as egg donation and surrogacy treatment options. In addition to Dr. Chilvers, families will be present to speak about their own experiences with infertility. "What makes this event unique is that it will be an interactive dialogue between me, patient families, and our guests," says Dr. Chilvers. "As we discuss causes of and treatments for infertility, we'll also be addressing the emotional, physical and financial aspects, where applicable. The goal is to help everyone who attends to better understand their fertility options and to feel more comfortable with their decisions ahead." The seminar will be held at Fertility Specialists of Texas' Frisco office (5757 Warren Parkway, Suite 300), and begins at 6:00 p.m. Please call 214-618-2044 to reserve a seat.
