PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - April 16, 2018 - PRLog -- Addiction treatment specialists from the Seacoast Region in New Hampshire sat down to discuss the efficacy of the area's drug rehabs.

The professionals highlighted that the local drug rehabs have been publicly criticized because they have become more popular in recent years.

They also mentioned that many community members do not understand select aspects of addiction treatment, such as why so many patients relapse.

Some of the addiction specialists who were joined the discussion focused primarily on bringing forth the importance of allowing the public to have more access to educational resources surrounding substance use disorders and promoted supportive relationships for the patients.

Increasing access to drug detox and drug rehab services is still a priority in the area, they stated and explained that those who have a substance use disorder and don't get treatment are increasingly overdosing.

Drug abuse has been a serious issue for the state of New Hampshire.

New data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that New Hampshire has one of highest rates mortality linked to synthetic opioids (30.3 per every 100,000 people).
