Follow on Google News | Everyday is Earthday for Max A Pooch the Black Lab who turns greenAmazing dog who has picked up approximately 12000 bottles and cans questions commitment of humans who celebrate Earth Day only one day a year.
By: Max A Pooch "It was a natural thing for him to do," says Sanderson. "Max is a recycled (rescue) dog, he was thrown away. Had he not been recycled he would have been euthanized and discarded like the infinite other things humans discard each day. Besides, as a Labrador retriever he enjoys picking up objects." When walking, Max A Pooch will work the brush and grass like any good retriever looking for a scent. When he finds an empty beverage container he will pick it up and bring it to Sanderson and put it in a plastic bag. If they are in a park or other area with trash receptacles Max will deposit the litter directly into a nearby trash container. Yes, after Sanderson cleans up after Max, this environmentally sensitive dog will then take the plastic bag containing the poo and put it in a trash container. Max A Pooch has spread the message from Chicagoland to Eastern Tennessee about the need to care not only about our planet but the things that live there. In his performances shows humans picking up litter is so easy even a dog can do it, and he also demonstrates what great companions rescue dogs make. Max A Pooch first appeared on video in the Huffington Post website via The Patch when he was living in Deerfield Ill. https://www.youtube.com/ He has performed for school groups, animal rescue groups, on TV in Chicago and Knoxville and was even extended a VIP invitation to audition for the popular TV program America's got talent. The amazing canine inspired the popular Pet Life Radio series Max A Pooch's Awesome Animal Advocates. Past episodes can still be heard at http://www.petliferadio.com/ Today, Max A Pooch is retired. He makes an occasional appearance for his favorite charity, Monroe County Friends of Animals, and when he takes his daily walks will still pick up litter. In fact just the other day he picked up a glass Royal Crown Cola bottle whose code indicated it had been manufactured in 1955. Which proves his point, if litter isn't picked up it isn't going to go away on its own. End
